What are feelings?

You can only feel them

when you are feeling them.

After that, they become names:

happiness, sadness, loneliness,

hopelessness, calmness, numbness...

All the feelings come suddenly,

and leave without warning,

leaving me alone in this empty Great Rift Valley of East Africa —

filled with feelings of no feelings.

I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad.

I just couldn’t stop the tears running,

in the rain.
