Chapter 3: A Dream in the Garden

Past Lives

Past lives

I used to live with the ghosts,

and thought that was my sweet home.

Then I realized I was imprisoned

by their invisible handcuffs.

A lion with wings passed by,

set me free,

but the cost distorted my timeline.

Now I have moments of past lives in the future,

and flashes of future in the past—

giving me déjà vu and nightmares.

I can’t get rid of them.

All I can do is face them.

I’ve learned to be peaceful with the ghosts;

here they have become my protectors,

my guides.
